And therein lies the problem. I expected far more from her than "mediocre." I am not objective when it comes to her writings; I expect GREATNESS. This short story was, well, short. But fun and I liked it. However, I meant to write my comments for The Thirteenth Tale. My thoughts on that are as follows!
Having always preferred fiction, and having loved stories and fairy tales I was hoping this novel would be enjoyable. However, it exceeded my expectations, much to my delight. Not only was the story a ""true" story in the best Grimm Brothers sense, but the language, phrasing and beauty of expression made it rise to the top of my list. I can't wait to read more by this author.
Really a ridiculous story - but what did I expect from something titled "The Princess and the Pea"? Being a well educated person I should have know better.
